I wish to congratulate both sides, the players, coaches, Officials and supporters at the match I refereed at Portway yesterday in rather wet conditions.
There was no comments or challenging my decisions(even when I missed a couple of forward passes) and a good competitive match ensued.
We are all aware especially in the Referees Society the impact, of the abuse of referees at grass roots rugby is having on the recruitment and retention of all age group referees in the game from Veterans like myself to our Young Whistlers who should be able to turn up the referee a game and enjoy the process.
