| North Midlands rugby is mourning the loss of one of its great characters, Pershore chairman Robert Willson-Taylor at the age of 61 after a brave battle against cancer.Known throughout the county as ‘Spud’, Willson-Taylor passed away in the early hours of this morning at the St Richard’s Hospice in Worcester.
‘Spud’ made his first team debut for Pershore at the age of 16 and played in many positions in the club’s various senior teams during a long career but he was mainly a lock forward. He served the club in a number of administrative roles including tour organiser, social secretary and, latterly, club chairman. |
