North Midlands RFU Finals Day – Saturday 9th May 2026
North Mids Cup, Shield and Vase – Cup & Plate Finals
Clubs are invited to apply to host the North Mids Cup, Shield and Vase – Cup & Plate Finals Day, if they are prepared to meet the following criteria:
- The club is a full member of North Midlands RFU.
- The club must be prepared to use their 1st XV pitch for Vase, Shield and Cup Finals, back-to-back (estimated kick off times of 11.30am, 1.30pm and 3.30pm but these are to be confirmed.)
- The club must have, and be prepared to use a second pitch of match quality for Vase, Shield and Cup Plate Finals, back-to-back (estimated kick off times of 11.30am, 1.30pm and 3.30pm but these are to be confirmed.)
- The club must have one other full-sized pitch, marked out and ready to use for warm-ups or in case of emergency. All pitches must be roped/barriered off.
- The club may use an artificial pitch as either one of the two pitches available.
- The club must possess parking for at least six coaches plus a minimum of 200 cars on an off-road site.
- The club must possess eight separate players dressing rooms. The first four to be cleaned after the Vase finals and prepared for the Cup finals.
- The club must have a separate changing area for at least six match officials with potentially extra area for female officials.
- The club needs to be able to cater for 360 players & officials (to be served in cycles) to be fed after each set of finals.
- The club must have suitable First Aid facilities.
- The club must provide a team of gate officials plus car park marshals.
- The club must have suitable indoors (and potentially outdoors) bars and catering facilities to serve the expected attendance.
- The club must have a separate ‘committee room’ to serve refreshments for the North Mids RFU and invited guests.
- The club must have a public address system for announcements and the facility to take this on to the pitch for presentations.
Clubs will be responsible for the cost of food for players and officials, as well as all overheads (electricity, water, pitch marking) but are able to keep all profits from the bar and food sales.
North Midlands RFU will pick up cost of trophies, balls, programmes and referees.
The split of the proceeds from the admissions gate is to be agreed as well as the staffing of the gates.
The admission charge will be £5 per adult for non-players / support staff.
The North Midlands RFU will pay for committee room food.
