What a day Saturday 11th March was!!
We arrived at Twickenham at 1pm and were met by Chrissie, Sophie & Tim.
They escorted us into the stadium & into our changing room. Tim then explained how the day would run.
First was the rehearsal for the GOH walking out through the tunnel onto the pitch was amazing, even though the kids had to be quiet due to press interviews going on. You could see their faces were just in awe of it all.
Standing on the pitch for the first time, looking around at the empty stadium was surreal.
It was then back to changing rooms for food & get changed into kit to go out & do the Activate session & a couple of touch matches with the Staffordshire team. The stadium had started to fill up now & the kids had a great Activate session run by our coach Matt Bingham, followed by a couple of touch games which the kids loved.
It was then back to the changing room to get ready for GOH. This time going out to the stadium was amazing. The noise level had gone up with the 80 thousand fans.
Tim then escorted us to our seats to watch the match.
Even though the result was not good for England it didn’t dampen the kids spirits. They all had a fantastic day, loved every minute of it and it was such a great experience for them.
I was so proud of them all, their behaviour was fantastic and they listened to everything Tim told them.
Thank you for choosing KCRFC U14s to have this experience, they will remember it for ever.
