| Greater Birmingham Under-13s beat Herefordshire 17-12 at Luctonians in their opening match of the season.Wing Tom O’Hanlon (Silhillians) gave Greater Birminghm the lead with a well-taken opening try, converted by scrum-half Harry Mitcham (Sutton Coldfield) and fly-half Noah Heward (Birmingham & Solihull) followed up with the second.
When Sutton Coldfield number eight Luke Reynolds scored a third try just before half-time Greater Birmingham appeared to be in control but Herefordshire rallied strongly after the break. Strong running from the back line and inspired forward play produced two tries which nibbled away at the lead but Greater Birmingham held on for victory. |
