| Greater Birmingham have named former Samoa and Bath number eight Zak Feau’nati in their squad for the Three Counties Championship final against holders Shropshire at Stourbridge’s Stourton Park on Tuesday May 13 (7.30pm).Feau’nati, who is about to step down as player/coach at Veseyans, was a stand-out player for Greater Birmingham when he made his debut in the competition last season but he has yet to appear for them in the current campaign.He is one of six changes to the squad that was beaten 56-22 by Shropshire in the final group match at Telford Hornets this week in a dress rehearsal for the final.
Bournville wings Ash Knight and Paul Sumner, University College Birmingham lock Jamie Williams, Bournville utility back Moses Liwalila and Bournville College back Jerry Turabeci all come into the Greater Birmingham squad. The Three Counties Championship is contested annually by the three Domestic Unions – Worcestershire & Herefordshire are the third – that make up the North Midlands RFU and has given players from outside the National Leagues an opportunity to showcase their talent.
