| North Midlands will be without Old Halesonians prop Jake Hayden-Wright when they open their National Under-20 Championship campaign against Eastern Counties at Moseley on Sunday February 2 (2.15pm).Hayden-Wright suffered a broken ankle in the dying minutes of the first half of the 15-15 draw with Cheshire in North Midlands’ final warm-up match earlier this month.
North Midlands are also missing Matt Spink (Birmingham & Solihull) and Reece Beddowes (Newport) through injury and Jack Wardle (Loughborough University) who is unavailable for their opening pool match. North Midlands, who were beaten by Lancashire in last season’s quarter-finals, play East Midlands at Bedford Athletic on February 22 and Notts, Lincs & Derbyshire at Dudley Kingswinford on March 16 in their other pool matches.
