| North Midlands Under-20s have called up centre Jake Williams, prop Jake Chandler and back-row forward Sam Thomson for their second match in this season’s National Under-20 Championship against East Midlands at Bedford Athletic on Saturday February 22 (2.15pm).Thomson, who played for North Midlands in last season’s competition, comes in for his seasonal debut having trained with Scotland’s Under-20 squad recently.
North Midlands are missing Shrewsbury centre Joe Hearle who is playing for Midlands Under-18s in this weekend’s Under-18 Divisional trial at Loughborough University and Worcester Wanderers pair Tom Biggs and James Gunther and Birmingham & Solihull prop Jonah Boyce are among those who are either injured or unavailable. North Midlands were beaten by Eastern Counties in their opening match after they allowed a 24 points lead to slip while East Midlands crushed Notts, Lincs & Derbyshire 49-5. North Midlands host NLD in their final pool match at Dudley Kingswinford on March 16 with the top two teams in the pool progressing to the national quarter-finals.
